Overview: Preschool Registration Process

Preschool Students
The following information is an overview of the Preschool registration process. Please review the “Detailed Preregistration Information” expandable section below for specifics regarding Preschool Preregistration.

On January 28, 2025, Preschool Preregistration will open at 6:00 p.m. Parents are welcome to complete the Preregistration Form. (Note: For those needing assistance, an in-person help session will be available on January 28 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. at Valerius Elementary.)
Once we receive your Preregistration Form, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
By April 11, 2025, we will call parents/guardians with the status of your child’s placement in the Preschool Program (accepted or waitlisted).
If your child is accepted into the Preschool Program, you’ll receive an email (subject line: “Urbandale School Registration”) with instructions for how to create a PowerSchool Parent Portal account. Once you create an account, you’ll login to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and complete the enrollment process. This will include:
- Uploading Proof of Residency (New Students Only)
- Uploading Proof of Birth (New Students Only)
- Uploading a Current Physical (New and Returning Students)
- Uploading Current Immunization Records (New and Returning Students)
- Registering in Revtrak (Preschool Billing and Adventuretime Family Services)
- Filling out Emergency Form in DocuSign (HHS Required for New and Returning students)
If your child has been waitlisted, we will notify parents/guardians as spots become available.

Overview: Early Childhood Special Education Preschool Registration Process

Returning Early Childhood Special Education Preschool Students
The following information is an overview of the Preschool registration process. Please review the “Detailed Preregistration Information” expandable section below for specifics regarding Preschool Preregistration.

Returning Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) preschool families do not need to preregister for preschool; however, families do need to complete returning student registration.
Returning ECSE preschool students will complete the returning student enrollment forms in your existing PowerSchool Parent Portal beginning on March 3, 2025. Completing the enrollment process within your PowerSchool Parent Portal includes:
- Uploading a Current Physical (Returning Students)
- Uploading Current Immunization Records (Returning Students)
- Registering in Revtrak (Preschool Billing and Adventuretime Family Services)
- Filling out Emergency Form in DocuSign (HHS Required for Returning students)
- For step-by-step instructions for registering your returning ECSE student, please review the returning K-12 student instructions (note: although these instructions are for K-12 returning students, they are also the instructions our returning ECSE preschool families will follow).

New Early Childhood Special Education Preschool Students
The following information is an overview of the Preschool registration process. Please review the “Detailed Preregistration Information” expandable section below for specifics regarding Preschool Preregistration.

New Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) preschool families do not need to preregister for preschool; however, families will need to preregister with the Urbandale School District.
Once your preregistration is approved by the district, you will receive an automated email (subject line: “Urbandale School Registration”) with instructions on how to create a PowerSchool Parent Portal account and complete new student registration. Completing the enrollment process within your PowerSchool Parent Portal includes:
- Uploading Proof of Residency (New Students Only)
- Uploading Proof of Birth (New Students Only)
- Uploading a Current Physical (New Students)
- Uploading Current Immunization Records (New Students)
- Filling out Emergency Form in DocuSign (HHS Required for New Students)

Detailed Preregistration Information

(Current School Year) 2024-25 Preschool Online Preregistration Information
Preschool Preregistration for the 2025-2026 school year will begin online at 6:00 p.m. on January 28, 2025. Please review the detailed Preschool Preregistration Information for the 2025–2026 school year.
For those needing assistance with the online preschool preregistration process, we will be hosting an in-person pre-registration event at Valerius Elementary (3305 92nd Street) on January 28, 2025. Families may arrive at 5:30 p.m. in order to prepare for the online preregistration process which will open at 6:00 p.m. During the event, we’ll have Chromebooks available for use by parents/guardians to preregister your preschool student(s). Translators will be available to assist parents/guardians. The in-person event will conclude at 8:00 p.m.
