Kindergarten Orientation
Kindergarten Orientation will be held Wednesday, August 7th from 4:00pm-5:00pm in the commons at Olmsted Elementary! Check in will begin at 3:45.
We are delighted to invite you and your family to embark on an exciting adventure that will lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning and growth! Our kindergarten orientation is designed to support this exciting transition so that it is a joyful and memorable experience for everyone involved.
As you step through the doors of our school, you’ll be greeted by our staff to check in and receive a name tag with a colored dot (this colored dot will correspond with the color of paper your assigned group leader will hold up for your child to join!). Once you are checked in, you will go directly to the commons where we will begin with a welcome message with our Principal, Jolee Donnelly and our Dean of Students, Kara Paulson.
After the welcome message, students will be asked to join their designated group (based on the colorful dot they’ve been given) and parents/guardians will remain in the commons for an informational presentation about our school schedule, kindergarten curriculum, things to practice at home, class routines, pick up and drop off routines – bring your phone with you to download our Pikmykid App! – and much more!
By the end of our orientation, our hope is that you leave with confidence as a parent/guardian of a kindergartner and a heart full of excitement, knowing that your child is embarking on a remarkable educational journey here at Olmsted.
Kindergarten is a magical time filled with new friendships and new discoveries! Our dedicated team of educators are eager to guide your little ones on their first steps towards academic and social success.
We can’t wait to welcome you and your family!
