UHS iJAG Students Attend State Career Development Conference

This past Tuesday, March 4th, 10 Urbandale students showcased their skills and talent at iJAG’s State Career Development Conference, which they proudly qualified for earlier this year. Throughout the event, they participated in various competitive categories, sharpening their leadership and employability skills. Students also had the opportunity to attend a career fair featuring over 50 employers, as well as participate in workshops to learn more about their future career pathways.

We are incredibly proud of all the students who competed:

  • Career Prep: Devin Johnson (1st place, advancing to the JAC National Career Development Conference in April – Indianapolis!)
  • Employability Skills: Dulce Villanueva
  • Prepared Speaking: Kara Browns
  • Business Plan: Karter, Colton, Gabriel
  • PBL Showcase: Ter, Thang, Zach, Nallely

The event celebrated the achievements of students across multiple competitive categories, showcasing their hard work and dedication. The ceremony created a fun and inspiring environment, leaving students motivated and proud of their accomplishments. A heartfelt “well done” to every UHS student who participated.

A big congratulations to Devin for earning 1st place and qualifying for the national competition! Devin will once again compete in the Career Preparation category. He will present to a panel of judges, sharing his passion for his future career, his understanding of the pathway to achieve his goals, and how iJAG has supported him on his journey.
