UHS Hosts BURBS Art Show
Created on April 29th, 2024April 24-25 was the BURBS Conference Art Show, hosted this year by Urbandale High School at Merle Hay Mall. The districts involved in the art show were: Urbandale, Ankeny Centennial, Waukee Northwest, Dowling Catholic, Johnston, Ankeny, Waukee, and Valley. Each school had three hours to complete a 7ftx7ft mural that will now be displayed at Merle Hay Mall. Urbandale students involved in the conference took home many personal awards! Congratulations and well done! #UHSPride
The students who took home awards are:
Cloe Trotter won the coveted Best of Show Award as well as 1st place in Oil Painting
2nd place Oil Painting – Makena Dewanz
3rd place Oil Painting – Miranda Staggers
1st place Acrylic Painting – Liberty Luna
3rd place watercolor – Miah Vo
2nd place ink drawing – Jeri Sobotka
1st place charcoal drawing – Tony Ruden
2nd place 3D sculpture – Kiki Ibsais and Maritza Salas-Tadeo
1st place 9th grade 2D – Jhony Lata
3rd place 9th grade 3D – Allegra Jensen
