Thanks to a generous donation, every UCSD second grader received a copy of the children’s picture book Just Like Caitlin on November 13th. The book, written by author Ally Obermeier and illustrated by Makenzie McCarthy, tells Caitlin Clark’s story while sharing a message with children that “by dreaming big and working hard, their future can be greater than they imagine.” The book is told from the perspective of a grandfather to his granddaughter and focuses not only on the love and passion of basketball, but also on what it means to lose and what to do when things don’t turn out as expected. This opportunity was such a great way to promote reading and learning with our students!

All currently available copies of Just Like Caitlin were anonymously donated, meaning 100% of proceeds will directly support the Iowa Youth Athletic Foundation.
