Nutrition Services Team Hosts Iowa Dept of Education and USDA
Created on October 12th, 2022
On October 12, the UCSD Nutrition Services team enjoyed welcoming the Iowa Department of Education and representatives from the Midwest Regional United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for breakfast at the high school. Principal Tim Carver, Director of Nutrition Services Jessy Sadler, and Nutrition Services team members shared about meal programs, students served, and how valuable the free meals program was for families during the pandemic. It is very hard to focus on learning when hungry, so providing breakfast and lunch for students is key for learning, health, and well-being. Following the visit, the USDA team traveled to Clear Lake to visit a school during lunch in celebration of National School Lunch Week. Congratulations to our Nutrition Services team for being selected to host the USDA. Well-done!
