Announcing Our UCSD Coordinator of Special Education
Created on July 11th, 2023We’re excited to announce our UCSD Coordinator of Special Education beginning in the 2023–24 school year. Mrs. Melanie Hatch has accepted the position of Coordinator of Special Education.
With over 21 years of experience, Mrs. Hatch brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this position. Since 2018, she has been serving as the Director of Student Services and Interim Director of Teaching and Learning in Oskaloosa Community School District. Prior to that, Mrs. Hatch served as an Instructor of Education at Central College for three years, an Assistant Professor of Education at William Penn University for three years, and a Special Education Teacher in Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS) for seven years and in Cedar Rapids Community School District for three years.
Mrs. Hatch is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Drake University. She earned a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Drake University and a Bachelor of Arts in K–6 Education and Special Education from Central College.
“I am excited to be joining the Urbandale Community School District and am looking forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to provide for our unique learners,” said Hatch.
