Announcing Our Olmsted Elementary Principal 2024–25
Created on April 9th, 2024We’re excited to announce our Olmsted Elementary Principal beginning in the 2024–25 school year. Mrs. Deborah Bordenaro has accepted the position of Olmsted Principal.
With nearly 30 years of experience, Mrs. Bordenaro brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to this position. Mrs. Bordenaro has been serving as the Assistant Principal at Carlisle Elementary for the past two years. Prior to that Mrs. Bordenaro served as an elementary classroom teacher for 16 years in Des Moines Public Schools (DMPS), a Vice President and President of the St. Anthony School Board of Education for six years, and an elementary classroom teacher for eight years in District 89 located in Illinois.
In addition, Mrs. Bordenaro was nominated for the DMPS Teacher of the Year Award, received the Pillar of the Parish Award from St. Anthony Catholic Church, received the PTA Award for Outstanding Commitment to Excellence, and was inducted into the Who’s Who of America’s Best Teachers. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts in Administration and Supervision Educational Leadership from Viterbo University. This May, Mrs. Bordenaro will earn a Specialist in Education Superintendent Licensure from Drake University and next May, she will earn a Doctor of Education (EdD) Degree from Drake University.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the wonderful Olmsted students, staff, families, and community for the upcoming 2024–2025 school year,” said Bordenaro. “I know that together we can accomplish great things and I look forward to contributing my skills, as well as learning from others, as we strive to bring learning to life for everyone.”
