Physical Education Curriculum
Physical education is an integral part of the total educational program of the Urbandale Community School District. It is imperative that we, the community, embrace a holistic emphasis on personal health, fitness, and wellness. The physical education program, through active participation, promotes respect and cooperation and develops positive attitudes that help contribute to lifelong physical activity. Instruction includes but is not limited to movement and body mechanics; fitness activities, rhythmic activities, tumbling and gymnastics, water safety, sports skills and activities; physical fitness to increase cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and flexibility; dance; leisure and lifetime activities. UCSD physical education classes are provided for all students regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, disability, religion, or creed.
