I am beginning my 22nd year as an administrator at Urbandale High School and eighth year as principal. During my first ten years, I served as the Dean of Students then Assistant Principal, working primarily with attendance, campus supervision, PowerSchool (including student scheduling), at-risk and ESL programming. As Associate Principal, I oversaw special education and other student management. Before becoming an administrator, I taught speech and English at UHS four years and at Winterset High School for two years prior to that. During those years, I also coached speech, debate, football and basketball.
After graduating from Urbandale High School in 1992, I earned my Bachelor or Arts degree at Eastern Illinois University in 1996 and my Master of Education from Iowa State University in 2002. I earned my Education Specialist degree at Drake University during the summer of 2009.
I am a lifelong resident of Urbandale and am happy to call it my home. Knowing the importance of community, I volunteer in the Urbandale Lion’s Club and with student organizations. I am also am the past-president for the Urbandale Community Action Network (UCAN), a non-profit organization with the mission of being a catalyst for positive community spirit. My wife and I have two children, ages 22 and 19.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Tim Carver
Principal
