Welcome!

My name is Michelle Rasmussen and I teach first grade at Karen Acres Elementary. This is my tenth year teaching; nine of those years have been in first grade and it is by far my favorite. Students will engage in exciting learning experiences and make tremendous growth this year.

I graduated from Iowa State University with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and endorsements in Reading and Social Studies. I also have a Master’s Degree in Literacy Education.  Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family,  creating art,  exploring with friends,  reading,  learning,  and practicing yoga.
