¡Hola!
I have been a teacher in the Urbandale Community Schools since 1992. I taught world cultures and languages at Urbandale Middle School for 18 years, and now I am at Urbandale High School. I am teaching Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 as well as cultural issues this year. I love helping students expand their knowledge of the world in which they live via the Spanish language and through understanding different cultural aspects. I currently serve as the sponsor teacher of the Urbandale Key Club, a service organization connected with the Urbandale Kiwanis Club.
When I am not teaching, I am involved in the activities of my four children. One is still in Urbandale schools. My oldest is a Luther graduate (Go Norse!)and is a music teacher in Waukee while my second oldest is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in linguistics. My third is a recent high school graduate who has entered the workforce. I enjoy reading, playing the piano as well as the French horn. I also like to dabble in decorating cakes. I have had the wonderful opportunity to travel to more than twenty countries and more than forty of the states in the U. S..
I am a proud graduate (with honors) of Western Illinois University. Go Leathernecks!
