Welcome to Fourth Grade!
I am very excited to be teaching 4th grade again at Valerius for the 2024-2025 school year! This is my 10th year teaching 4th grade, and 16th year in the Urbandale school district! I know it will be a fun and exciting year, and I am looking forward to working with and getting to know your child! Please feel free to contact me at any time!

About Me
I received my B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in mathematics from Augsburg College in 2007 and my Master's of Science in Education with an emphasis on K-6 Mathematics from Walden University in 2014. Prior to teaching 4th grade, I was the Title I Math teacher at Karen Acres and Jensen Elementary from 2009-2015, and taught 4th grade in St. Paul, MN during the '07-08 school year.
I am originally from Minneapolis, MN, and moved to Iowa in 2008. I currently live in Grimes, IA with my husband - Jake, son - Ethan (9), daughter Clara (2), and our dogs, Marshall & Raya (RI-ah). When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies & TV, baking, and dabbling in various arts and crafts.
Specials Schedule
Specials are from 10-10:40am Tues - Friday; on Late start Mondays, specials are from
Day 1: Guidance/Library (alternating cycles)
Day 2: Music
Day 3: PE
Day 4: Art
Lunch and recess is from 11:50-12:35 (25 min lunch and 20 min recess)
