About Me
This is my 19th year teaching in Urbandale. I received my degree from the University of Nebraska. I taught in Lincoln, Nebraska as a special education, classroom and reading teacher. It was there, that I was trained in Reading Recovery for 1st graders. I moved to Olathe, Kansas where I taught 1st grade. In 2004, I moved to the Des Moines area. After spending a couple years home with my children, I was excited to return to teaching in 2007.
I am one of the 4 interventionist (reading & math support) teachers at Olmsted Elementary. You can find me in the 4/5 neighborhood- Room #2518. My husband, Dave & I have 6 children – three college graduates (Grand View, Iowa & Iowa State) and three in college (Florida International, Iowa State & Northern Iowa). When I’m not at school, they keep me very busy. I also enjoy photography, scrapbooking, gardening, and reading! If I can help with any part of your child’s reading or math education, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
