New Student Orientation and Open House: August 17th
Created on July 31st, 2023UHS Students and Parents: Our first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year is Wednesday, August 23rd at 8:00 a.m. If your student is a freshman or new to UHS this year, please plan on attending Orientation together. All students and parents are then invited to attend the Open House. Please see details below.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 17, 2023
3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. UHS Freshman and New Student Orientation
Enter through the front doors or the Performing Art Center (PAC) doors and make your way to the PAC. We will begin at 3:30 p.m. There will be introductory information for parents and students. After about twenty minutes, students will be dismissed to walk the building, find their classrooms, and meet their teachers. Be sure your students bring their schedule to orientation (see below). Parents will stay in the PAC to receive more information about life at Urbandale High School. Make sure to make plans where to meet up with your student somewhere in the building or near the building at 4:30 p.m.
4:30 p.m. – 5:45 p.m. UHS Open House
Open House at UHS is an opportunity for all students grades 9–12, and parents, to tour Urbandale High School, to walk through your student’s schedule and to meet their teachers. There is no formal program or tours at Open House. Simply enter the building and make your way around visiting each of your classrooms. Teachers will be in their rooms to greet you and answer questions, and you get a chance to see all of Urbandale High School. Please make sure to stop by their Connections room! They can pick up their ID and Chromebook (if needed) there.
IMPORTANT – Please bring your student’s schedule with you or access the schedule through your PowerSchool account. You can access PowerSchool to print your schedule or set up your PowerSchool account at this link: http://powerschool.urbandale.k12.ia.us/public/
