MWLA and Bike World Partner to Promote Healthy Living

Metro West Learning Academy’s physical education teacher, Todd Maschino, and Tom Davis with Bike World Iowa, are partnering to get more Metro West students riding bikes! Bike World will take any adult sized bike and recondition them for MW students so they can start exploring the world of biking.

” We want to promote physical health and well-being in a variety of ways at Metro West to all students in our Physical Education Program. Biking provides a healthy, safe and fun way to promote wellness which will positively impact students,” Said Maschino. “Regular exercise is proven to improve concentration, reduce stress and boost overall well-being, all of which positively impact academic performance.  It’s important that our students get exposure to an activity that has so many positive benefits.”

Metro West Director, Mike Moran, is also incredibly excited for students to benefit from this opportunity and praises Maschino and Davis for spearheading this project.

“We are so grateful for the generosity and support of Bike World and the Urbandale community in supporting the students of Metro West Academy. Their team has already reconditioned some great bikes for us and we cannot wait for our students to benefit from this fantastic opportunity when the bike drive concludes.”

Anyone interested in getting rid of adult bicycles that are collecting dust, you can drop them off at ANY Bike World Iowa location by October 31st.
