Indigenous Peoples Day

Indigenous Peoples’ Day- October 14, 2024

Indigenous Peoples’ day is an annual holiday that celebrates and honors Native American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures. While it is not a federal holiday, many states and cities have taken to celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day on the second Monday in October. Other states may recognize the contributions of Native American peoples’ on various dates throughout the year. President Biden became the first U.S. President to mark the holiday as Indigenous People’s Day via presidential proclamation on October 11, 2021.
