UCSD Students attend Des Moines Area Optimist Luncheon
Created on March 18th, 2024On Tuesday, March 5, two Urbandale Middle School students and two Urbandale High School students were recognized at the Des Moines Area Optimists Annual Youth Appreciation Week Celebration. The students were chosen based on their outstanding personalities and performance at school.
The two students from Urbandale Middle School were May Davila and Gabe Vega. May is described as an incredibly hard worker and advocate for herself and her peers. She is also very kind and happy, always with a smile on and willing to help. Gabe is described by his teachers and peers as someone who is helpful, listens to directions, and always participates in class. Gabe is a student who is always searching for a deeper understanding of topics and has a great attitude during the day!
The two Urbandale High School students chosen to participate in the Optimist Luncheon were Linda Lako and Jon Hudak. Linda is described as an outstanding student and leader amongst her peers. She is also the student with the most Silver Cord hours logged at this point in her UHS career. Jon is also described as an amazing leader and was selected because he has the second highest amount of Silver Cord hours logged at this point in his UHS career.
