Part of implementing the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system at Valerius includes giving out J-Hawk tickets throughout the year to students who are following the J-Hawk Way. Students are given tickets for being respectful, responsible, safe, & caring. After students reach their goal in earning a certain amount of tickets, they earn a school-wide reward. For the month of May, the goal was to earn 1,000 tickets to earn “Pie A Teacher” reward. As a school, Valerius earned well over their goal with a total of 2,613 tickets in May. Two student names from each class were drawn from the tickets collected in order to participate in the “Pie A Teacher” event. Pictured is a very brave Superintendent Dr. Daca joining in on the fun!
