On our longer breaks we offer fun and exciting programming for a nominal fee. The focus is a theme-based hands on approach. Families can choose to participate in just the programming during the school day, but we have before and after care available as well.
Any Karen Acres student K-5th grade is eligible to sign up for Intersession. Students currently routed on a bus may request busing to school during Intersession classes.

People, Places, and Pets with Mrs. Schmida
- These are just a few things that start with the letter “P” that we will be talking about during intersession. We will use a photo of a person, place, or pet to engage in the process of printmaking. We will use a panoramic photo of an area near or around the school to create a collaborative painting. We will use recess time for playing and possibly lunch one day will be a picnic with our own creatively designed placemats. Students will be asked to have a parent or guardian share a favorite photo of people, places, or pets to use for the printmaking project. The picture may be emailed or a copy could be brought to school. Originals will be returned with the student. Hopefully, our time will go perfectly as planned!
